Welcome to Cedar & Stone Retreat — we’re so glad you’re here.

This home and the story behind it are rooted in our family’s love for Decorah and the Driftless region. Ryan grew up in the area, spending much of his childhood exploring everything this corner of northeast Iowa has to offer. Shortly after we were married, he introduced me to Decorah, and it quickly became a place we returned to again and again. What started as weekend getaways as a young married couple soon turned into adventures with our four young kids—hiking, exploring, and making memories together in the Driftless.

Over the years, we have stayed in many vacation rentals here and often found ourselves dreaming about creating a place of our own—somewhere we could share what we love most about this area: the outdoors, slower days, and time spent together. We had always hoped for a cabin that could serve as a weekend escape for our family, and in 2026 that dream became a reality with Cedar & Stone Retreat.

We’re honored to welcome you into our home and are so excited to share this space with families and friends. Our hope is that during your stay, you come to love the Driftless region—and Cedar & Stone Retreat—as much as we do.
